Acknowledgement of Country

Gaydream Island acknowledges the Giya (Gia) and Ngaro peoples, the Traditional Owners and first custodians of the land and sea Country on which we gather.

As we come together on this Island, many of us have travelled through the mainland Country of the Giya people and across the ancestral waters of the Ngaro people.

We pay our deepest respects to Elders past and present, and honour emerging leaders and custodians of culture. We extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples joining us here today.
